The CAGED System: An Overview

The CAGED system is a useful approach to learning your way around the fretboard.

It’s based on the 5 easiest open chords to play and takes the name CAGED from them;

C major, A major, G major, E major, and D major.

These chord shapes are adjusted to make them moveable to any area on the neck.
