Paul Gilbert’s Secret Arpeggios

 

Here’s a cool bit from a Paul Gilbert guitar clinic that he did in Rome. In it he talks about taking a five note shape and moving it up the neck in octaves.

I’ve tabbed out a couple of licks from the video below:

[lollum_list_element]The Bonus Lick (1:50) During this part of the video Paul is shredding up and down the neck using his pattern and ventures off, adding a few extra notes by jumping to the high E string. When messing around with this shape I came up with a cool sounding repeating pattern in fives that I thought you might like to check out too.[/lollum_list_element]
