March 7, 2015Cracking the Code – Season 1, Episode 7: “Lix et Veritas”
Troy Grady of Cracking the Code discovers the insane guitar stylings of Nuno Bettencort of Extreme. With a funky sense of rock musicality, and the technical chops to back it up, Nuno was the evolution of EVH’s style. This inspires Troy to practice even harder only to suffer a sobering defeat at a local guitar contest. Will this be the end of his quest for guitar perfection, or only serve to fuel his fire?
Below I’ve tabbed out a few licks that Troy talks about in this episode. They are:

[lollum_list_element]Play With Me (Intro) AThe lick Nuno plays at the beginning of Play With Me is actually a bit from Mozart‘s Alla turca. It’s fast, precise and short. Perfect for whipping out at the local guitar shop.

[lollum_list_element]Play With Me (Solo) Every bit of this ridiculous solo is awesome. From the single string heroics in the intro, to the string skipped arpeggios. This is a hot licks tour de force.
