Back in Black Guitar Solo

Guitar-Overview-Icon

I once heard a guitarist say,”Listening to Steve Vai makes me want to practice but listening to Angus Young makes me want to party!” Angus is responsible for some of rocks most memorable guitar riffs and solos. He and his band AC/DC have kept Rock & Roll alive and well for three decades.

The solo in Back in Black is one of Angus’ most catchy. It’s filled with hooks and speedy blues licks all based around the E minor Pentatonic scale. I love how he starts the solo in a very low register and gradually works his way up the neck to the twelfth position for the solo’s climax. At which point he jumps right into another hook & then the chorus. Well played Angus!
