Country Lead Guitar Lesson in G Major

 

Check out this country lead guitar lesson from Scott Groves. This dude has some great chicken pickin skills and teaches lessons on a bunch of different instruments. His instrument of choice in this lesson is a sweet a** pink paisley Strat.

In this lesson Scott shows you a classic pedal steel sounding lick in G Major which uses a held bent note as a pivot point between several other picked notes higher up in the scale. This is a common trick in country solos and there are many variations you can come up with for it. He shows one variation that he uses a lot. I’ve included the tab to both licks below.
