Cracking the Code — Season 1, Episode 3: “A Pick and a Hard Place”

In this third episode of Cracking the Code, Troy Grady continues his quest for quick lick perfection by focusing on Yngwie and Eddie Van Halen. He discusses the issue of pin-pointing the exact spot on the guitar neck that each phrase is played. Will unlocking this mystery open up the world of insane guitar licks to him. How will he do it? :O

In the video Troy considers writing Eddie to ask that he tab out all his great songs. Luckily we now have the world of solos at the click of the mouse. Below you can find the tab for Eddie’s solo from “Jump” by Van Halen. It’s tabbed out a fret lower so it sounds the same as Eddie’s guitar which was always tuned a half step down.
