In this lesson we’re going to continue our look at finger tapping techniques.
This techniques was inspired by the playing of fellow Boston area guitarist Nuno Bettencort. It was my home-brewed attempt to emulate some of the unique sounds he would get out of the guitar.
The lick is based on the the A minor pentatonic scale. We’re going to play the scale at the fifth fret using hammer-ons and pull-offs.
At the same time we’ll be finger tapping the same shape an octave higher at the seventeenth fret.
The result is very “video game” sounding lick and you’re bound to turn some heads in the room when you play it.
