In this lesson we’re going to look at the Double Pentatonics finger tapping technique. In this video I’ll show you how to tap two pentatonic shapes at one time. This techniques was inspired by the playing of a fellow Bostonian Nuno Bettencort. This lick was my home-brewed attempt at emulating some of the unique sounds he would get on the guitar.
The lick is based on the the A minor pentatonic scale. We’re going to play the scale at the fifth fret using hammer-ons and pull-offs. At the same time we’ll be finger tapping the exact same shape an octave higher at the seventeenth fret.
The result is very “video gamey” sounding lick that will turn heads whenever you play it.
