The effects loop allows you to include your amp’s natural overdrive into the sounds created by your delay and modulation effects.
The loop comes between your amp’s overdrive channel (Pre Amp) and its master volume (Power Amp) and it’s where you’ll usually see delay, reverb, chorus, tremelo, phaser, and flanger effects being used.
The benefit of this option is the ability to craft your guitar’s ultimate sound prior to the effects loop, then place that sound into an atmosphere like a club,a church or a hallway.
There are two ways to do this:
- Series Loop | The guitar signal travels through the effects loop out to the power amp
- Parallel Loop | An original version of the guitar signal is mixed with an affected version before the power amp.
As always, Experimentation is Encouraged.
