Fast Harmonic Minor Lick

Here’s a Fast Harmonic Minor Lick from Rob Chapman the mega likable YouTube instructor. I love Rob’s videos and the way he teaches in such an approachable way. This lick is a way to ascend and descend the E Harmonic Minor scale using sixtuplets (groups of six notes).

I’ve tabbed it out below and I’ve notated the picking using Troy Grady’s “coffee break” technique where the first two notes are picked and the third is a hammer-on or pull-off. This is helpful for players who have a bit of trouble with picking…like me 🙂 Feel free to use strict alternate picking on this lick though if you are one of those super awesome guys who can do that. It’s fine. I’m totally not jealous.

Anyway, if you have any questions please leave them in the comments and help our site grow by sharing this awesome knowledge with others.
