Here’s a great fast ascending guitar lick from Paul Gilbert. I took his School of Rock course (which this video is from)over at Artistworks and loved it. I can’t think of many people better qualified to teach the art of guitar picking than Paul. He’s so freaking fast!
This lick is in the key of C major and using the three note per string pattern starting with the C note on the top E string. The picking pattern feels nice to play and it repeats as you move to different sections of the neck. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.
